The Sykes' home was severely damaged and the family car destroyed during the tornado and so they were able to move into temporary shelter Wake County set up in conjunction with the Red Cross at E. S. King Village family and graduate housing at N.C. State. They and the other storm survivors that were being put up in the apartment complex had to find other residences to stay in by Friday though.
